As my first year of university drew to a close, I was fortunate enough to become Vice Chair of The Creative Exchange, a student group rooted in my passion for both marketing and supporting others. Having been a member in my first year, stepping into a leadership role felt like a natural next step to gain experience in marketing and event management.
Together as a committee of six, we managed the full logistics of the 6-week programme, sourcing guest speakers, securing event spaces, coordinating refreshments from local catering companies, and producing consistent Instagram content to build student awareness throughout. We also took the campaign onto campus directly, presenting before lectures to drive sign-ups.
The result was over 50 students supporting a diverse range of local ventures, leaving a community of SMEs across Leicestershire better equipped to tackle their social media challenges with confidence.
Stakeholders included:
The Green Bowl — A local Loughborough favourite, looking to refresh its Instagram presence.
CAIR London — A mobile app start-up focused on reducing commuter exposure to emissions on the London Underground, seeking to strengthen its branding.
Endeavour Adventures — A charity seeking social media growth and ongoing brand development.
